The Foley Entertainment Group LLC (“FEG”) – which operates the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights in addition to several other sports, venue and hospitality entities – is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Web Development Graduate Assistant position for the 2023-24 NHL season. The Web Development Graduate Assistant will assist in the maintenance of the FEG network of websites while working across multiple business teams to track, coordinate, and implement digital product deliverables.
This position will be based at City National Arena in Summerlin, NV and report to the Full Stack Developer. This is a paid position, which will conclude in June 2024 and has with a maximum of 29 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Updates and Maintenance
- Develop and work within CMS to update pertinent content across the FEG network of websites
- Upload videos, articles, and other media to the network of FEG websites and/or mobile apps
- Organize and submit ad requests through the National Hockey League and Google Ad Manager
- Collect and organize web traffic data for different business requests
Design and Development
- Design and build new web pages within CMS
- Create a unified appearance and presentation across FEG properties
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Design and update reports and dashboards to present web data
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Cooperate with all business teams to match visual design intent and/or provide best practices for the overall UX
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
Other
- Identify growth initiatives to acquire, engage, and retain KnightTime+ subscribers
- Test and provide feedback on new and existing technologies
- Create prototypes and experiment with new technologies and features as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with programming languages such as HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript
- Understanding of how web applications work including security, session management and development best practices
- Working knowledge of relational database systems, object oriented programming and web application development
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics and network analytics tools
- Understanding of Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics; basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) process
- Problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and meet required deadlines
- Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills
