The Role and What You’ll Do:
The primary role of the Associate Producer is to assist the Producer and Senior Producer with all facets of production for the UFC Countdown series. This includes story research, scheduling, logistics, post-operations, clearances, and licensing.
- Creates research documents for each athlete for field producer’s review, including information found from scanning athletes’ social media and story angles found within recent or historic interviews.
- Identifies lifestyle scenes through research of locations and events where shoots take place.
- Creates and updates calendars for shoots, assets, vacation, deliverables, and workflow.
- Conducts comprehensive research of news outlets, archival footage, social media, Getty + Pond 5 assets, associated press, and any other applicable resources to supply storytelling material outside of UFC productions.
- Contacts outlets to reach agreements and/or processing licensing paperwork to acquire material for episodes.
- Coordinates interview audio distribution for transcription.
- Coordinates foreign language audio distribution for subtitles.
- Assembles graphics list based on field notes.
- Tracks media rights and assets.
- Watches scenes and conducts story notes as needed.
- Supports Assistant Editors but fulfilling a variety of footage requests (clipping from the DAM, downloading from Aspera, creating sequences, selects, etc.)
- Assists Assistant Editors and Editors as needed, including project preparation and media management.
- Coordinates asset schedule for international versioning, including VO script distribution for foreign language reads, and screener distribution for foreign language subtitles.
- Applies foreign language mix, GFX, and subtitles to international versions and supervises mastering with Assistant Editors.
- Creates and distributes music cue sheets.
- Fact-checks and quality controls VO script and show master.
You Have These:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in television production.
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree in a related field preferred.
- Must have a strong grasp of production techniques and trends.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a must.
- Must have the ability to work autonomously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
- Working knowledge of basic administrative office computer programs on both Mac and Windows PC systems.
- Proficient editing skills with Adobe Premiere
- Experience in a sports environment preferred; knowledge of MMA is a plus.
