Revenue generation is critical to The FA's investments back into the game and the role of Head of Commercial Partnerships plays an integral role in driving and retaining revenue across our Commercial Partnership programme.

The FA's partnership portfolio is one of the largest in global sport and we are proud to partner with leading brands such as Nike, EE, Emirates, Adobe, M&S, Chase, and many more across FA properties such as England Men's, Women's and Para teams; The Emirates FA Cup and The Adobe Women's' FA Cup; Wembley National Stadium and St. George's Park.

Success in this area has been achieved by building world-class strategic partnerships, driving and maximising commercial value, building exceptional relationships with partners, providing thought leadership and developing high-performing partnership management teams.

What will you be doing?

Partnerships

  • Responsible for the strategic management and delivery of The FA's Commercial Partnerships programme, ensuring effective delivery of rights across the various FA properties and supporting partners' marketing activations and campaigns.
    • Proactively manage and maintain a high-performing Partnerships team to ensure first-class management and delivery to our commercial partners.
    • Drive operational excellence across the Commercial Partnerships programme.
    • Drive and maximise commercial value.
    • Negotiate renewal agreements with partners, maximising revenues and commercial value.
    • Manage commercial agreements across FA Competitions and England teams to ensure delivery of commercial rights for the Commercial Partnerships programme.
    • Provide thought leadership and recommendations to drive growth across the Commercial Partnerships programme.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to commercial partners, providing strategic guidance on rights usage and marketing activations.
    • Drive, develop and evolve The FA's planning, measurement, reporting and performance of partnerships.
    • Demonstrate protection and guardianship of FA properties, as appropriate.
    • Demonstrate the ability to influence at the highest levels.
    • Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with commercial partners and internal stakeholders.
    • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and high-performance leadership.
    • Onboard new partners as they are secured.
    • Work closely with FA departments to ensure a strong stakeholder network and relationships.
    • Lead season and tournament planning and evaluations.

Wembley Stadium Events

  • Responsible for maximising revenue and driving commercial value from Wembley Stadium and the events programme, working closely with the Wembley Stadium team.

St. George's Park

  • Explore and identify opportunities to drive and maximise commercial value for St George's Park, working closely with the leadership team at St George's Park.

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:

  • Experience in a commercial/marketing environment within the sports industry.
  • Experience of working with leading brands.
  • Experience of negotiating and concluding deals, proven in identifying and exploiting revenue opportunities and maximising commercial value.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong EQ skills.
  • Ability to build trust and work collaboratively in a cross-functional delivery model.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high-performing teams and first-class delivery.
  • Ability to influence.

Beneficial to have:

  • Solid understanding of partnership measurement techniques and developments.
  • Experience in planning or delivering partnership activations and campaigns in a brand / agency environment.
  • Experience of working on high-profile sports properties.
  • Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity and work under pressure.

Our Organisation

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
