Job Title: Software Development Engineer (SDE) - DevOps
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Director, Engineering - Baseball Systems
Status: Exempt

Primary Objective: We are seeking a Software Development Engineer- DevOps to join our team, focusing on the productionization of machine learning models and web applications. Your role will involve close collaboration with data scientists and developers to understand their work and ensure its compatibility and performance in a live environment.

You will also be a key architect in the development of our continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, overseeing the reliable integration of machine learning models and web applications into our production systems. Essential Functions:


  • Collaborate with data scientists, developers, and stakeholders to understand existing machine learning models and their requirements.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for automating the transition of machine learning models from development to production.
  • Implement a solution that allows analysts to run machine learning models in a centralized, controlled, and scalable manner.
  • Devise strategies for allocating compute resources efficiently across different machine learning jobs.
  • Assist developers with implementation of CI/CD pipelines for web applications, including automated testing.
  • Document code and support procedures thoroughly.
  • Train end users on new applications/features.
  • Work closely with analysts to develop new features.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, business, or a related field required. Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management. Professional certification preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) yearsโ€™ experience working in a similar role required.
  • Experience with more than one and a working knowledge of most of the following key technologies: C#, SQL, Angular, React, R, Python.
  • Expertise in one or more CI/CD tools
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools preferred
  • Microsoft Azure experience preferred

The anticipated range of base compensation for this role is $110,000 to $125,000 annually.
