Job Summary:

Are you passionate about e-commerce, sports merchandise, and want to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of online retail? Join our team at the NBA Sacramento Kings as an E-Commerce Intern! Under the guidance of the Director, Retail Operations, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to various aspects of our online store operations on the Shopify platform. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into e-commerce logistics, inventory management, and customer experience enhancement.

Program Period: June - August 2024

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and updating product listings on the Shopify store, ensuring accurate product information, images, and pricing.

  • Collaborate with the manager to manage SEO, product description and site optimization.

  • Work with the e-commerce team to process and fulfill customer orders promptly and accurately.

  • Learn about shipping processes, package handling, and labeling to ensure orders are dispatched efficiently.

  • Contribute to the improvement of the user interface and user experience of the Shopify store to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales.

  • Assist in monitoring customer feedback and reviews to identify areas for improvement.

  • Learn how to track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to e-commerce operations.

  • Assist in generating reports that provide insights into sales trends, conversion rates, and customer behavior.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to assist in executing digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media promotions, and SEO initiatives.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and customer service, to align e-commerce strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Assist in communicating with external partners, such as shipping carriers and app developers, to ensure seamless platform integration.

  • Stay updated with the latest e-commerce trends, Shopify updates, and industry developments, and share relevant insights with the team.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your understanding of e-commerce best practices and operations.

  • Take initiative to learn about Shopify functionalities, order management systems, inventory control, including inventory management system and merchandise planning.

  • Assist the Director, E-Commerce Operations in various tasks related to store maintenance, content creation, and other e-commerce initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, e-commerce, or a related discipline.

  • Passion for e-commerce, online retail, and sports merchandise.

  • Basic understanding of e-commerce principles and terminology.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a dynamic environment.

  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take on new challenges.

To qualify for Kings University internships, you must be:

  • Currently enrolled in college or have graduated within 12 months

  • Able to commute to the downtown Sacramento office

  • Able to work 25 - 40 hours per week for the summer session

Interns will be compensated $16.00 per hour and receive benefits such as California Paid Sick Leave, discounts on Sacramento Kings merchandise, and free parking.
