SUMMARY

The RSL Director of Business Development will identify, qualify, and sell corporate sponsorships to local, regional, or national businesses for Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, and Real Monarchs. After closing new business, will focus on maintaining positive relationships with all assigned accounts, provide excellence in customer service, and endeavor to renew the partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Achieves aggressive sales goals by researching, identifying, and prospecting companies that qualify as potential clients.
  • Designs and develops marketing sales strategies to deliver to clients.
  • Maintain positive relationships with sponsors to ensure programs are mutually beneficial and successful.
  • Collaborates with the Partnership Marketing team to ensure client contracts are fulfilled.
  • Collaborates with Partnership Marketing team from Discovery meeting with prospects, to contract signing and hand-off.
  • Work with existing clients to renew partnership contracts before contract expiration.
  • Participates in Game Day assignments, schedules will be identified between both Clubs to split responsibilities.
  • Review accounts receivable to ensure accounts are no more than 60 days past due.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus three (3) years of relevant experience prospecting and generating sales in a sports environment.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the team’s schedule.
  • Ability to set and accomplish aggressive sales goals.
  • Establish and manage a sales pipeline.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 25 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
