The Premier League’s Football Development team is responsible for the delivery of the League’s strategic plans to support its ambitions to develop the best Players, Coaches, Staff, and Match Officials.

To support the continued implementation of these strategies the Premier League provides individualised professional development programmes and initiatives for football leaders and multidisciplinary staff across the Academy system. As part of this important work, we are looking to recruit a Leadership and Workforce Development (LWD) Executive responsible for supporting the operational delivery of LWD programmes. The LWD Executive is a member of the LWD Team and will work towards meeting team and individual objectives.

We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

The role

  • Coordinating the day-to-day operations of LWD programmes and wider activity, both online and in-person (i.e. pre-event; event; post event).

  • Acting as the point of contact for delivery partners (i.e. module leads; facilitators; venue managers; event consultants) before, during and after events.

  • Supporting the operational planning for all LWD programmes and wider activity.

  • Liaising with learners, Premier League facilitators, external consultants, venues, AV, branding and communications to ensure the effective delivery of programmes and wider activity.

  • Administering LWD Programmes and wider activity, for example: development needs analyses, psychometric assessments, Individual learning plans, mentors, consultant contracts, digital learning and the Premier League LMS, academic accreditation, branding of LWD learning materials.

  • Coordinating communications and media from LWD Programmes and wider activity to store and share internally and externally, in order to promote the work of the LWD Team, for example: liaising with photo and film consultants, coordinating the efficient storage of media, producing communications copy.

  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as the PL may reasonably require.

Requirements for the role

  • Experience of project management and/or event planning and management.

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.

  • Track record of working with multiple stakeholders.

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Ability to act proactively and independently on own initiative, with a solutions-focused approach.

  • Comfortable operating in an agile way, and working with change and uncertainty.

  • Self-motivated team player who values and understands the importance of collaboration.
