The Premier League is responsible for the development of the Professional game coaching workforce in partnership with the Professional Game partner organisations (Premier League, The FA, EFL, PFA, LMA, LCA) via the ongoing delivery of the Integrated Coaching Strategy (ICS.) The Premier League have developed a long-term strategy, the Elite Coaching Plan (ECP), with the vision of developing a world-leading coaching development system that is productive, role-enhancing, diverse and inclusive.

The purpose of the role will be to support in the delivery of the vision of the ECP (Elite Coaching Plan), to develop a world-leading coaching development system. The role will have a particular focus on project managing and supporting the delivery of coaching programmes and provision to the professional game.

We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

The role

  • Provide planning and project management services to support the delivery of Elite Coaching Plan (ECP) projects and programmes

  • To lead on the development and delivery of performance analysis provision across ECP coach development programmes

  • To work closely with the Coaching Insights Manager to analyse the impact of the ECP

  • Be Innovative in developing the processes used to deliver ECP projects including but not limited to digital provision and the evolution of communication channels with coaches

  • Lead the planning and management for delivery of workshops and conferences

  • Work closely with the Coach Development Manager(s) / Programme Lead(s) to support and evolve the learning design and delivery elements of the PL Coach Development Programmes

  • Create and manage project systems and structures including the following:

o Budget planning, forecasting and tracking;

o Project planner, tracker, analysis of KPI’s and review system;

o Resource management (on-line Learning Management system).

o Quality Assurance and standards; and

o Risk and Issue management

o Calendar management

  • Work closely with the Coaching Planning and Projects Manager to ensure that systems and processes across ECP projects are coherent

  • Manage and collaborate with stakeholders including all professional clubs (Coaches, Academy Managers, Heads of Coaching, other senior Club staff) and other Professional Game Partners (including the PFA, EFL, The FA, LCA and the LMA) ensuring effective working relationships

  • Support the relationship with partner Higher Educations Institutions, leading on enrolment for coaches on Premier League Development Programmes

  • Ensure effective communication with and deployment of Premier League mentor and consultant pool

  • Represent the Premier League in relation to Coaching matters with Clubs and other football bodies where relevant

  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as the Premier League may reasonably require

Requirements for the role

  • Experienced project manager with experience of managing projects within an elite sporting environment.

  • Strong understanding of the principles of Youth Development in a football environment

  • Demonstration of effective stakeholder management

  • High-level communication (oral and written) skills

  • High-level in designing and developing presentations.

  • High level emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills

  • High-level planning and organisational skills

  • High-level efficiency in using technology

  • Experience of implementing a project vision
