Purpose: As an integral member of ourSpecial Events team, this position will coordinate and organize all aspects of Special Events at Providence Park. This includes planning non-gameday special event logistics and room setups, serving as an onsite Event Lead, involvement in gameday operations, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities (in order of importance):

Special Events

  • Event Planning – in coordination with the Event Manager, oversee all planning, logistics, and execution of internal and external special events at the stadium. This includes lead up meetings with clients, staffing, layout and menu planning, and operational execution.
  • Event Staffing – work with Fan Experience to communicate all Event Staffing needs and timing for every event at Providence Park.
  • Event Lead - serve as on-site lead and point of contact for events taking place at Providence Park. Ensure all event spaces are set correctly, oversee Event Staff placement and timing, and manage all events from start to finish.
  • Event Wrap Up – follow up all events with post-event survey, thank you email, and client gifts.

Gameday Responsibilities

  • Gameday Operations – The Special Events team will work with the Operations & Fan Experience teams to assist in gameday operations of large Portland Timbers games. This includes, but is not limited to: pre-game stadium setup, in-game crisis management, and post-game teardown.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Computer Maintenance and Upkeep: ensure all Event-related folders are up to date with all relevant information.
  • Provide support to other departments within the Portland Timbers organization in regard to additional opportunities/events.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 year of Event Management and/or Marketing experience preferred
  • Outstanding follow through and organizational ability
  • Ability to work effectively independently, with a team, and with customers
  • Comfortable in leadership and management roles
  • A strong desire to work in thesports events industry
  • Valid United States driver’s license & personal vehicle preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, with an emphasis on public speaking
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and pay close attention to details
  • Comfort with appropriately representing the Portland Timbers brand
