Job Title: Motion Graphics Designer

Location: Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia, PA)

Reports to: Senior Manager, Video Production

Status: Full-Time; Salaried

Responsibilities:

  • The Motion Graphics Designer will be responsible for developing motion graphics, primarily focusing on in-arena videos, social media content, digital marketing, and advertising needs
  • This position will work within the Brand Strategy and Creative Content department under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Video Production, and will work together with video editors to create and maintain the motion graphics look and feel for all projects
  • Design and animate custom intros, lower thirds, logos, and transitions for social, broadcast, commercials, and in-arena digital signage
  • Create concepts and design video and LED graphic elements used during in-arena presentation for Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Wings, and all Wells Fargo Center events
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop and execute brand and marketing campaigns that set the benchmark for innovation design
  • Uphold Flyers, Wings, and Wells Fargo Center brand strategy, vision, creative standards, and guidelines
  • Maintain an active and consistent overview of trends and/or tools/plug-ins necessary for the Flyers, Wings, and Wells Fargo Center to remain on the cutting edge of visual graphics
  • All other tasks as assigned or necessary

Intellectual/Social demands:

  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.

Physical demands:

  • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. It will be necessary to be on-site at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Work environment:

  • The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience with motion graphics design in a professional work environment; experience in sports and entertainment is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in video production, animation, or related major
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of Ross Xpression Graphics Systems is a plus
  • Ability to create complex media for videos, video boards and multiple arena surfaces by using After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, etc.
  • Ability to add visual effects to sports highlight videos and broadcast spots
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines and changing landscapes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends and select holidays is required
  • Applicants must submit a reel demonstrating experience
