The part-time Custodial Worker is responsible for ensuring that all areas at Canadian Tire Centre (“CTC”) are properly cleaned and maintained according to standards.
Main Responsibilities
Responsible for cleaning and providing high standards of custodian care for the interior of CTC
Operates and maintains cleaning equipment such as ride on auto scrubbers, floor burnisher, and push floor scrubbers
Clean, dust and vacuum all areas of CTC
Shampoo carpets using various carpet extractors and buffers
Clean, strip, buff and wax floors
Responsible for emptying the recycling and garbage pails throughout the office complexes
Responsible for ensuring that the kitchens are cleaned nightly
Ensure all restrooms are stocked at all time with soap, and toilet paper and hand towels
Clean and polish metal surfaces and elevators
Ensure class doors and windows are clean at all times
Ensure that the proper inventory of supplies are on hand, and maintain accurate records
Responsible for ensuring that CTC health and safety policies and procedures are followed
Other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor
Health & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (“OHSA”) are adhered to, specifically:
Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA regulations and internal policies and procedures
Using or wearing protective equipment, devices or clothing when required
Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member
Reporting any contravention of the OHSA regulations or Senators Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures
Requirements
Knowledge of occupational health and standard safety act
Knowledge of equipment, cleaning materials, and techniques required
WHMIS certified
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Able to perform tasks requiring physical endurance
Must possess effective oral and written communication skills
Team player
