The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports, with a deeply passionate and loyal fan base that is second to none. How to Make the Team

Bring your strong purchasing and planning skills as you take ownership of the buying for all the retail locations and execute with an exceptional level of commitment and attention to detail. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Retail Operations and will engage frequently with members of all departments.

Show Us You Can

  • Lead buying and planning strategy for the New York Islanders
  • Drive in-store fan experience and branding with product and activations
  • Build buy targets from sales targets set by leadership
  • Ideate and build a cohesive and storytelling merchandise assortment
  • Look for new product ideas and market trends
  • Monitor open to buy budget and stock levels throughout season
  • Improve margin and increase productivity
  • Generate in-season and end of season reports and recaps then analyze sales data with actionable insights and driving key business decisions
  • Create a planogram for store layout
  • Work with visual merchandising team on store sets based off product flow and themes
  • Work with e-commerce, warehouse and supporting departments on product flow and themes
  • Lead and maintain Islanders Team Store merchandising standards
  • Create product knowledge pack and train store associates on product and themes

Your Training & Talent

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in a retail environment
  • Experience in buying and planning
  • Strong decision making, analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-changing environment
  • Able to maintain and build effective relationships with cross-functional team
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience & proficiency with Retail POS and management systems, Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and events as needed

  • Hybrid, Work with Manager on days to work in office
  • Based in Elmont, NY at UBS Arena
  • Work select Islanders home games and events
