The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional football team and a member of the National Football League’s AFC South Division. The Jaguars are one of the NFL’s youngest franchises, playing their first regular season home game on September 3, 1995 in Jacksonville, Florida and have since won four division titles. The Jaguars are owned by Shahid Khan, a visionary leader whose businesses include Flex-N-Gate, Fulham Football Club, All Elite Wrestling, Bold Events and Iguana Investments. Since 2012, Mr. Khan’s impact on the Northeast Florida community has exceeded $500 million, including charitable giving through the Jaguars Foundation, capital improvements to EverBank Stadium and the creation of Daily’s Place, which hosts upwards of 40 concerts a year. The Jaguars and Iguana Investments recently opened the state-of-the-art Sports Performance Center (Miller Electric Center), which now houses all of football operations for the Jaguars, including players, coaches and other personnel. Over the next several years, the Jaguars and Iguana Investments will complete Phase 1 of the Shipyards, a reimagination of the riverfront which will include a Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, an office building and modernized marina, as well as begin additional projects to transform the area around the stadium into a year-round, mixed-use sports and entertainment district.

Summary

This position will oversee the hiring, talent management, and people operations ensuring that that all parts work together to create seamless workflows and an engaging, inclusive and productive workplace.

Job Responsibilities

  • Have full ownership of the day-to-day People function and correlated tools; which includes, but is not limited to, HRIS management, HR data integrity, reporting, all systems team members need access to and other core people functions.
  • Recommend and implement the best tools and systems in order to build a strong foundation for the People Operations team and all employees.
  • Oversee and execute the full employee lifecycle, inclusive of recruitment, the interview process, paperwork, onboarding, performance management and offboarding.
  • Onboard new employees; oversee and coordinate new hire orientations.
  • Act as a liaison between the People and Culture team and the Payroll and Benefits team on various team member matters.
  • Partner with payroll and benefits team to ensure competitive benefits programs are in place in order to support the company’s ability to attract and retain top talent.
  • Process all administrative needs as part of an employee’s lifecycle, such as: FMLA, accommodations, LOA requests, employment verifications, tuition reimbursement, unemployment claims, name changes, etc.
  • Oversee performance review and feedback processes.
  • Identify key performance indicators for the organization's people operations function; assess the organization's success and competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Ensure company remains compliant with Federal, state, and local laws and regulations and file all required reports in a timely manner.
  • General office administrative oversight. Inclusive of: management of office spaces and desk assignments, employee collaboration and meeting areas and vendors.
  • Oversee general and routine offerings and operations, such as: employee daily lunches, game day people operations (game day communications, shuttle service, game day meal, etc) and various other employee perks.
  • Implement and assist with other needs and projects as they arise.
  • This role will oversee two employees.


Job Qualifications

  • College degree.
  • Minimum of seven (7) previous years’ relevant experience.
  • HRCI or SHRM certification strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of and experience with various HR systems, processes, policies, practices, procedures and tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment and labor law policies, regulations, and practices.
  • Independent, self-starter who takes the initiative to identify and assist in resolving problems both within and beyond areas of direct responsibility.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to maintain effectiveness, professional demeanor, and positive attitude, even in ambiguous situations and during high-pressure periods.
  • Oversaw performance review processes previously, a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead a team.
