General Description:

Support Entertainment Manager with community events and Rockets home games. Assist with Rockets entertainment teams for community and in game collaborations. Coordinate marketing efforts as it relates to the Rockets mascot such as promote, attend, participate in appearances, assist in creative and content direction, and social media and digital presence.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Tasked with performing at select community appearances.
  • Assist the mascot with skits, videos, props, logistics, wardrobe, and overall organization of in game entertainment and community events.
  • Assist in idea generation and creative development of new Clutch digital and on-court skits, performances, and videos.
  • Help capture photography/videography at community events and Rockets games for Clutch The Bear’s social media platforms.
  • Acts, entertains, and performs as different characters in live skits or videos for different entertainment elements.
  • Assist with fan engagement (instruction, safety, hype, etc.)
  • Be able to problem solve under pressure with a sense of urgency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Improvisation and creativity skills
  • Social media proficiency
  • Must possess an extraordinary level of creativity, energy, and spontaneity.
  • Works well with children
  • Outgoing, friendly personality, energetic and charismatic
  • Ability to perform and speak confidently in front of a large crowd
  • Ability to handle the intense physical stress of mascot performance.
  • Flexible schedule
  • Extensive knowledge of pop culture and the latest trends in music, news, and entertainment.
  • Be familiar with basketball rules and game format
  • Mascot experience is a plus


PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The employee must be physically and mentally fit to perform and entertain throughout Houston’s different climates.
  • The employee is regularly required to perform and communicate with others.
  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
  • The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
  • The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on internal/external communications and relationships.
  • The employee must be approachable and have the ability to take constructive criticism to learn and grow.
