The Houston Rockets are on the lookout for a dynamic Business Intelligence & Performance Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for owning the research, measurement, and consumer insights strategy for the Corporate Development Department. This position will provide day-to-day support and organization of all research and data analytics needs for the sales and renewal process to drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Demonstrates our One Team philosophy of Passion, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Teamwork.
  • Manage Department research, data & case studies library for client usage and partner proposals & recaps.
  • Maintain organization of all business intelligence insights and research materials for the Department, as well as executing a variety of department projects and duties.
  • Source relevant data and translate into solutions for prospect & partner sales and business objectives for Corporate Department team members to use in a variety of presentations that demonstrate the power of the Rockets brand by successfully translating relevant data points into solutions for prospect & partner sales and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team on storytelling efforts and enable data-led narratives to live across all sales materials (proposal decks, general presentations, case studies, recaps, video presentations, etc.) to build cohesive value proposition packages.
  • Develop custom reporting materials, illustrative visuals and engaging case studies for prospects and existing partners in a quick-turn environment, using pertinent statistics and research to bring research data points to life.
  • Responsible for management of third-party vendor relationships that provide tools and insights to fulfill against all Department research needs while ensuring optimized utilization of each vendor.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence & Marketing teams and vendors to translate findings into client facing reports & insights.
  • Maintain up-to-date information across industry sectors, social demograhics and fan segmentation for team and venue attendees.
  • Stay informed on current industry trends and effectively communicate information to Corporate Development team.
  • Lead for internal and external Corporate Partner surveys researching and reporting process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive efficiency with reporting and Department dashboards.
  • Assist with creation of partnership recaps, compiling relevant data throughout the season and customizing graphics and storylines that convey partnership ROI.
  • Assist the Corporate Sales and Activation team to present research data and findings to prospects and clients.
  • Uphold brand guidelines and possess a strong knowledge of design standards.
  • Manage department presentation technology, setting up A/V equipment for sales pitches and recaps in meeting areas throughout the building, as needed.
  • Assist with on- and off-site events, such as game days, Player/Legend Appearances and Department/Client Events, as needed.
  • Various other duties as assigned by CRO, VP and Corporate Department team members.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Min. 1 year of full-time work experience is required; 2-3 years of full-time experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in process and project management: planning, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
  • Possess sharp analytical skills with the ability to analyze & translate data into easily understandable, actionable insights and leverage to advise decision making & measure success.
  • Ability to express ideas graphically and visualize data in persuasive reports.
  • Experience working with internal proprietary data, CRM, and/or external reporting systems such as Tableau, YouGov, Salesforce, Nielsen, SponsorUnited, Relo, etc. preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills to include a high proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint as a design tool, proficient in Excel. Adobe Photoshop experience a plus.
  • Must possess excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate optimally with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to a team player environment, while being able to work independently as a self-starter and demonstrate innovation and initiative.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment while balancing multiple tasks at once
  • Must have strong work ethic and be extremely flexible with the ability to handle fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
  • Must be able to understand partners’ objectives and look for ways to associate with the Team’s assets.
  • Must be available to work in office environment, with some game and event responsibilities required, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.


Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • In-house/in-office position at Toyota Center in Houston, TX
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional schedule, including weekends and some holidays (ability and willingness to work nights and weekends around basketball games)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others
  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format
  • Must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs
  • Must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships
