Job Title: Communications Game Day Staff

Department: Brand Marketing & Communications

Reports to: Senior Director of Content Strategy

Job Summary

The Communications Game Day Staff members are key members of the FC Cincinnati’s Brand Marketing & Communications team on game days at TQL Stadium. This part-time position requires positive customer service skills, an upbeat attitude, and a willingness to help where needed. The Communications Game Day Staff will assist in three key areas each FC Cincinnati game day: media will call attendants, photo marshals and press box attendants. This role will occur Approximately 1-2 times per month (hours per week may vary due to event schedule), mostly nights, weekends, and potentially holidays during the season from February through November 2024. This job is part-time and seasonal, pay is $14.00/hour.

What You’ll Do:

Part of a multi-person team, the successful candidates will assist with three key job functions during the season.

  • Media Will Call Attendants: Staff the only entrance for media to enter the stadium. Greet media and answer any questions upon arrival. Issue accreditation and secondary access vests, as necessary. Trouble-shoot as needed, working with the club’s Communications staff to solve issues related to media check-in and accreditation
  • Photo Marshals: Work on the end lines of the field pregame and during the game, ensuring that photographers and videographers adhering to league and team media policies. Escort and monitor photographers for the traditional pregame photo. Ensure compliance with access points on the field
  • Press Box Attendants: Assist in the press box by monitoring the game and conversing with Opta, the official statisticians of MLS. Distribute media materials to the press box level and media work room pregame, halftime and postgame. Collect and quickly transcribe selected and useful postgame quotes from press conferences and locker room media availability within a stated period of time
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Communications and Communications staff related to game day operations

  • Ability to work outdoor events in varying temperatures and weather throughout duration of shift.
  • Ability to work majority of FC Cincinnati home games for approximately five hours each game day
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and email platforms
  • Fast typing and proofreading/editing skills

Lindner III and co-CEO Jeff Berding, FCC started play in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2016. FCC entered MLS as the 24th team in 2019. TQL Stadium, home of FC Cincinnati, is one of the most ambitious soccer-specific stadiums in not only North America, but the world. Critically-acclaimed firm Populous designed an innovative and forward-thinking stadium that is one of the largest soccer-specific facilities in Major League Soccer. The closest seats are within 15 feet of the pitch at the $250 million, privately funded stadium. The design includes 53 traditional suites and 4,500 premium seats throughout four premium club spaces. FC Cincinnati’s supporters’ section, The Bailey, has grown to be more than 3,100 strong and loom over opponents at a 34-degree angle at the stadium’s north end. A 360-degree canopy roof covers every seat in TQL Stadium, but still allows sufficient sun in to grow a natural grass field.
