Job Summary:

The In-Game Host will be responsible for engaging and entertaining fans during game breaks during sixteen (16) Detroit Tigers spring training games and sixty-six (66) Flying Tigers regular season games. Collaboration with Game Presentation Producer to ensure effective and appropriate fan engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Game Day Entertainment: Provide live entertainment and engagement during home games to enhance the overall fan experience.
  • On-Field Activities: Coordinate and host on-field activities, promotions, and contests between innings to keep fans entertained during breaks in the game.
  • Fan Interaction: Engage with fans in the stadium, encouraging crowd participation, leading cheers, and creating a lively and positive atmosphere.
  • Interviews: Conduct on-field interviews with fans, players, coaches, and other team personnel. This may involve impromptu or scripted interactions.
  • Promotions and Sponsorship Integration: Work with sponsors to integrate promotions and giveaways into the in-game entertainment, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for both fans and sponsors.
  • Scripting and Planning: Collaborate with the game production team to plan and script in-game entertainment elements, ensuring they align with the overall game day experience.
  • Crowd Control: Manage crowd energy and dynamics, encouraging positive fan behavior and sportsmanship.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and able to adapt to changes in the game schedule, weather delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Hosting or Entertainment Experience: Previous experience as an event host, emcee, or in a similar role with a focus on live entertainment.
  • Enthusiasm: High energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for engaging with fans and creating a fun atmosphere.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Crowd Engagement: Ability to read and respond to the energy of the crowd, adjusting the level of engagement accordingly.
  • Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively with other game day staff, including production crews, mascots, and promotional teams.
  • Creativity: Bring creativity to the role by developing new and engaging entertainment ideas to enhance the fan experience.
  • Knowledge of Baseball: While not always a requirement, having a basic understanding of baseball and the specific team's culture can be beneficial

Working Conditions:

  • Office & Outdoor Stadium Environment
  • Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Employment dates: January 16, 2025 – September 30, 2025
