As the Revenue Accountant, you'll serve as a key member of the Accounting and Finance team, with a significant emphasis on all revenue streams of the organization. This will include working directly and on a day-to-day basis with the Sponsorship and Legal teams.

This role will be focused on the revenue cycle beginning with customer proposals, to billing, collection, revenue recognition, reporting and reconciliation. Revenue accountant must be comfortable with revenue recognition principles including ASC606 and must demonstrate the interest and knowledge in revenue subsystems and their connection with general ledger system. Experience working with other departments and external auditors is a plus. This role may have a direct report or responsibilities for intern activities.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Read and review sponsorship contracts. Work with sponsorship and legal team on contract language. Coordinate with sponsorship team to assure revenue is properly allocated based on accounting standards.
  • Customer billing from contract system and integration of data into accounting system
  • Various other tasks in the revenue cycle which may include application of cash receipts and collections.
  • Maintenance of contract revenue file and monthly revenue entries
  • Coordination of revenue testing and files with various auditors
  • Coordination of auditor requests and preparation of audited financial statements
  • Coordination with FP&A on NBA reporting
  • Coordinate with Senior Accountant on Ticketing Revenue and Other Game Revenues
  • Coordination of Suite billing, monthly revenue entries and monthly reconciliations

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Familiarity with ASC Rev Rec 606 and multiple element accounting
  • Excellent communication skills; desire and confidence to work with departments outside of accounting and finance
  • Scheduling flexibility to adjust priorities as needed and balance workload with team members to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and problem solving skills
