Description

Do you have a passion for marketing, promotions, and fan development? The Columbus Crew is looking for outgoing and engaging candidates to serve as the Columbus Crew Energy Crew for the 2024 MLS season. This position provides a variety of sports-marketing related learning experiences, specifically in event production and fan experience.

This internship is paid hourly and reports to the Coordinator, Marketing.

Opportunities & Responsibilities

  • Execute engaging and interactive marketing activations including coordinating with on-site vendors, hanging banners, setting up tents, tables and sound systems, and assisting mascot performers at each appearance
  • Drive growth of the fan database with data collection opportunities throughout the year
  • Demonstrate and maintain Crew brand standards while serving as an ambassador of the brand
  • Provide a fun, entertaining and positive experience by interacting and engaging with all guests during activations, events, and matches
  • Promote the Crew by creating a positive and exciting atmosphere while interacting with guests, sponsors, and supporters
  • Assist with additional Crew grassroots and marketing events as needed
  • Opportunity to assist executing in-match experiences, halftime contests and pre/post-match activations

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Available for 10 months of the year, potentially February through November
  • Max of 15 hours per match week paid hourly
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Dependable transportation to and from appearances
  • Ability to attend most regular and post-season Crew home matches, including evening and weekend assignments
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during work hours
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong and confident verbal communication skills. Customer service experience a plus
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • General knowledge about the Columbus Crew, MLS, and soccer are preferred, but not required
