Description Summary
The Manager, Digital Strategy & Sales is primarily responsible for developing and implementing digital, social and content inventory with the Corporate Partnership department and the Marketing department. This individual will support the sales team to generate new business revenue with local, regional, and national brands through the sale of digital and content inventory. The ideal candidate will have strong business development skills, and experience driving revenue through real time content monetization and digital assets through customized partnerships.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as an internal thought leader for digital sales innovation, specifically focusing on trends and ever-changing dynamics of sponsored content on social media and other digital platforms.
- Develop all-encompassing digital communication plans — social, web, app and email — for partner-specific campaigns.
- Maintain and constantly monitor digital inventory within team’s internal system; Work closely with Business Analytics to ensure digital assets are properly rated and prepared for sales team.
- Play key role in ongoing, bi-weekly, monthly and annual reporting process, providing insights and storytelling for year-end/end-of-campaign partner recaps.
- Review digital components on white papers and scorecards for consistency before they are sent to contract.
- Meet and exceed personal and team revenue targets, working collaboratively with corporate partnership sales and activation teams to identify revenue opportunities with prospects and current partners
- Support the sales team and generate qualified leads and maintain a continuous pipeline of prospects through a strong network of contacts, and by maximizing outreach, in-person meetings, event/game entertainment, and additional networking opportunities.
- Create and deliver custom presentations to prospects, working with internal business intelligence, community relations, Foundation and marketing teams to assemble best-in-class ideation, strategy, and solutions.
- Establish strong working relationships with local, regional, and national brands to understand individual marketing and business goals and initiatives.
Required Experience & Skills
- Thought leadership within the social, digital and content in the sports business
- Proven history of successfully driving revenue through digital and content
- Ability to successfully negotiate deals
- Work game days, weekends, and special events to entertain existing partners and new business prospects.
- Ability to travel
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 2 years of extensive and proven integrated sales experience with demonstrated success in the digital and content sales
