Chicago Fire Football Club is a Major League Soccer team that was founded in 1997 and is Chicago’s ambassador to the global sport of soccer. The Club recently returned to Soldier Field as well as opened a new 50,000 square foot office in the heart of the city. With tremendous growth and expansion, the Club is laying the foundation for an audacious and ambitious vision that will transform the brand and the success of the Club in the coming years.

Position Overview:

Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a dedicated Director of Group Sales to join our team and play a key role in the growth of the Club’s ticket sales revenue generation! This role will report to the VP, Ticket Sales, Service & Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and execute a group ticket sales business plan
  • Strategize dynamic group sales development plan for the youth sports market
  • Establish partnerships with youth soccer programs in the Chicagoland area
  • Meet and exceed game-by-game group ticket sales goals
  • Regularly measure and report on the effectiveness of group sales campaigns
  • Research and analyze new technology, trends, and developments inside and outside the sports industry to provide ideas and insights on how to improve our sales strategy and product portfolio
  • Develop cost-effective high-margin ticket sales promotions/platforms
  • Manage the group ticket sales department budget
  • Create and foster a positive sales culture within the Chicago Fire sales team, as well as the entire front office
  • Motivate and provide leadership to the group ticket sales team
  • Evaluate the weekly and monthly activities of the group sales team to provide regular feedback, training, and coaching
  • Active involvement in the recruitment and retention of the group ticket sales staff in support of People and Culture
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of ticket sales management
  • A proven record of developing and managing highly strategic premium partnerships; strong prospecting, analytical, presentation and communication skills.
  • Understands and provides superior customer service
  • Handle multiple projects with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills. This includes speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listening, possessing excellent group presentation skills, and being willing to participate in meetings actively
  • Proficient computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, & Salesforce CRM
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings. This includes all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, or a related field
  • 3+ years of youth sports sales programming experience
  • Experience using Archtics
  • Proven success in a professional sports or entertainment role
