We are seeking a professional, proactive, detail and service-oriented Senior Coordinator, Human Resources to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Senior Coordinator, Human Resources will collaborate closely across various departments to flawlessly execute HR processes, ensure compliance with all employment regulations, maintain accurate employee data across all systems, provide a high level of service and support to employees of the Chicago Blackhawks, Fifth Third Arena Community Ice Rink, Rockford IceHogs, and Chicago Steel, and coordinate all other HR initiatives as requested.

How You’ll Contribute:

  • Maintain and regularly audit systems and files ensuring accuracy and compliance of HRIS data, personnel files, org charts, employment contracts, I-9s, and other legal requirements.
  • Administer annual compliance requirements, track participation, manage certifications and raise visibility to leadership as needed.
  • Analyze and generate comprehensive reports on headcount, participation, and other key HR metrics to aid in workforce planning and budgeting recommendations that drive organizational performance.
  • Support the Performance Development Process (PDP) through system administration, progress tracking, training deck preparation, SOP creation, and other tasks as requested.
  • Become an in-house expert on our HR systems and help educate, coach and enable employees to utilize self-service features effectively.
  • Partner with Finance department to submit essential personnel updates related to compensation, job titles, reporting, and other employee information to ensure accuracy, compliance, and maintain data integrity.
  • Manage supplemental benefits administration by managing active employee rosters, processing payments, and addressing inquiries.
  • Assist with the management of administrative tasks related to employee relations including but not limited to processing employee leave and accommodation requests, responding to employment verifications, handling worker’s compensation claims, assisting with immigration paperwork, and maintaining performance documentation.
  • Provide administrative support for all recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews and arranging candidate travel as needed.
  • Execute the administrative tasks associated with hiring candidates such as sending pre-hire communications and administering all relevant pre-employment paperwork and screenings.
  • Expertly coordinate all administrative and communication aspects of employee on-boarding, off-boarding, and movement within the organization.
  • Lead new hire orientation and educate new employees on Company policies, benefits, and internal procedures.
  • Execute all administrative tasks requested from the Human Resources leadership and performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Player Stats and Qualifications:

  • Service mindset with the ability to effectively build relationships at all levels while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • A minimum of 4 - 8 years of relevant experience in human resources required with a working understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures; experience within the sports, events, hospitality or other fast-paced, high-volume industry strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with maturity, discretion and maintain confidentiality in all HR-related activities.
  • Experience working in various HR platforms including ADP Workforce Now, Lattice, Traliant or similar systems.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, PPT, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.) or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to change direction quickly while adhering to deadlines.
  • Pro-active communicator and problem solver while exercising good judgement.
  • Positive, culture champion who demonstrates the Chicago Blackhawks’ values of integrity, curiosity, empathy, collaboration, and originality.
  • Ability to work extended, non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as required.
