JOB TITLE: Director, Partnership Activation

Position Overview:
Reporting to the VP, Corporate Partnerships, the Director, Partnership Activation will oversee the activation and execution of sponsorship elements for Orioles’ partners. This role is integral to ensuring all contractual obligations are met and partnership goals are achieved. The Director will lead a team, serving as the main point of contact for various partner accounts. This position requires building strong cross-functional relationships and collaborating with internal departments to drive revenue through renewals, upselling, cross-selling, and new partnerships. Ideally, the chosen candidate will be detail oriented, organized, a team player, and out-of-the-box thinker who is humble, creative, adaptable, and analytical.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Directly supervise a team consisting of a minimum of three Partnership Activation team members.
- Sponsor Activation: Manage partner activations by working with other departments to ensure outstanding execution and fulfillment of all deliverables, including media, digital assets, print advertising, stadium/arena signage, special events, hospitality, in-game promotions, and community events.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory management of all corporate partnership assets, including signage, giveaways, in-stadium promotions, radio, digital, social media, community initiatives, tickets, suites, and more.
- Client Relations: Build strong relationships with current partners to aid in the renewal and retention of sponsorships, ensuring all contractual obligations are achieved.
- Creative Development: Collaborate with internal teams to develop creative marketing concepts based on partners’ needs to drive new revenue.
- Research and Data Analysis: Work with internal departments to compile and share research, data, success rates, and market trends with corporate partners. Organize and gain insight from market research.
- Client Recaps and Presentations: Oversee and review all client recaps and sales presentations.
- Event Management: Work a minimum of 40 home games and special events to manage partner activations.
- Revenue Development: Collaborate with Corporate Sales execs to upsell and cross-sell current partners, generating incremental revenue through additional partnership sales.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with internal processes (e.g., CRM) and reporting (e.g., financial reporting). Develop and deliver new tools, models, and KPIs to focus, drive, and monitor commercial activities.
- Sales and Strategy: Participate in sales and strategy meetings, providing guidance on sales positioning, prospecting, and qualifying potential prospects. Leverage research tools and self-generated research to support sales presentations and partnership evaluations.
- Business Planning: Create regular business plans with activation-based sales and marketing strategies to drive new business revenue. Develop and deliver customized sales and marketing plans, proposals, and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of high-level partnership activation experience in the sports industry; professional baseball preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Proven experience leading, coaching, and supervising teams.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal.
- Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks and projects.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability while maintaining high-level attention to detail.
- Self-starter mentality with a proven track record in building successful partnerships and supporting significant investments.
- Experience using ProVenue, Tickets.com, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Expertise in developing and implementing event-based commercial and revenue strategies.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Positively represent the organization and its corporate and community partners.

The anticipated salary for this role is $110,000 - $125,000 annually with a 15% bonus target depending on experience.
