Marching Band Equipment Driver

The Washington Commanders are seeking a responsible, eager to work, and dedicated individual to assist our Marching Band with transporting equipment and instruments on a part-time, seasonal basis. This position will work with the Marching Band department in the coordination of logistics for all band equipment, which involves loading, unloading, set-up, and tear down.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate equipment truck rental
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
• Drive equipment truck to and from Washington Commanders Music Department rehearsals and special events
• Lead and assist with loading/unloading instruments and equipment into/out of truck
• Schedule band members to help with loading shifts, and submit lists of members to band staff for payroll
• Ensure the complete list of necessary equipment for each rehearsal/special event is packed and unpacked
• Help set up and tear down equipment and instruments at rehearsals and special events
• Assist with managing equipment inventory
• Provide logistical support on Washington Commanders game days
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must be able to commit to working all rehearsals, special events, & football home games and potential playoff games.

• Must be at least 18 and over with HS Diploma or GED

• Must maintain a professional appearance

• Requires the ability to perform duties with attention to detail

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Must be able to maintain a professional appearance.

• Ability to be friendly and courteous, while using appropriate discretion based on the situation.

• Effective verbal communication skills.

• Able to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb stairs and ramps.

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

• Be a team player who is able to work well in a fast-paced environment.

• Hourly Rate: $18-20
