This role will provide strategic and service-minded accounting and finance support to the business and stadium functions to promote cross-functional collaboration, including the following responsibilities and opportunities:
Responsibilities:
- Manage various federal and state tax compliance projects, including review and coordination of all tax return filings, estimated payments and supporting analysis.
- Prepare or manage communication with the IRS and state DOR audits, notices, and questions.
- Support tax planning for all current and future entities to minimize tax and tax exposures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, advising the finance team on any changes that may impact the organization.
- Manage and oversee all indirect tax compliance through completing all sales and use tax returns, city ticket tax filings, and business tax filings.
- Prepare and provide required documentation to respond to financial audits performed by external auditors.
- Collaborate with tax consultants to ensure timely compliance and mitigation of tax risk for the franchise and key stakeholders.
- Manage annual risk assessment review of insurance policies through collaboration with legal, finance, and external insurance brokerage consultants.
- Address compliance issues and resolve regulatory matters.
- Provide support to the CFO and VP of Finance with other special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a tax-specific role, preferably in a corporate environment or with a public accounting firm
- CPA certification preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication, and research skills required; along with demonstrated ability to manage projects and key stakeholders
- Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software tools, to include prior experience with sophisticated Excel-based analysis; NetSuite experience preferred
- Attention to detail and great organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, managing multiple projects, simultaneously
- Proven problem solver with a track record of demonstrating continuous learning and development
- The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information
