As the Director of DevOps with the Tennessee Titans, you will manage a team of engineers and developers to help us create the next generation of innovative solutions while also enhancing and optimizing our existing systems and applications โ across both Football & Business Operations. Providing day-to-day management and development for the team, the DevOps Director will manage projects to ensure seamless delivery, implementation, support, and issue resolution. Using your knowledge and experience with technology, you will help guide our organization to implement solutions that will move us forward and keep us ahead of the competition.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day of development staff, ensuring risks are pro-actively mitigated and work is completed in a timely manner. Overall reducing complexity in the environment
- Organize and prioritize development projects, ensuring projects are scheduled and completed according to business needs.
- Develop, maintain and report on project plans, timelines and resources ensure visibility and proper tracking of projects and issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within IT and with various stakeholders including but not limited to, process owners, product managers, agile teams, etc.
- Mentor, train and coach team members with a focus on leadership, career development and operational excellence.
- Adhere to best practices in security, licensing, source code management, incident management, and architectural standards
- Ensure on-time and defect-free delivery of applications in accordance with Tennessee Titans standards
- Proactively identify opportunities for system enhancement and value generation
- Optimize cloud resources for application performance while balancing cost implications
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent development experience required.
- 7 years of development experience preferred; 3 years leading multiple IT projects through the full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) including prior work defining complex application architecture and integration with multi-tiered systems
- 5 years of experience within core technologies and architectures including but not limited to, Java Enterprise Technologies, Restful Web services, SOA, Angular, React, HTML/CSS, SQL, Python, Javascript/JQuery, Docker, Kubernetes
- Expertise in leading the architecture, design & implementation of highly complex data integrations and data services by utilizing technologies such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google Big Query
- Knowledge of Integration technologies such as Spring Integration Framework, API Management, Micro-services preferred
- Strong leadership and people management skills; ability to build and grow teams of highly motivated, deeply technical, productive software engineers preferably in an Agile environment
- Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills, ability to respond effectively and diplomatically to sensitive issues
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate highly technical concepts in a clear/concise manner to non-technical individuals
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, including budgets and timelines, and the ability to procure and engage construction and consulting services
- Strong experience with Agile / DevOps approaches or methodologies required
- Full fluency and expert-level knowledge in systems/languages applicable to the role
- Advanced experience in working with the various IT teams to build and implement a scalable architecture for relevant software solutions
- Financial and statistical reporting knowledge and experience preferred
- Knowledge of project management methods and tools required
