Title: Staff Accountant
Department: Executive & Finance
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Job Summary:
Sacramento Kings are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can contribute to our continued efforts to strive for excellence and innovation within our finance team! As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate and timely financial information as well as involvement in the month-end close process, periodic audits and financial statement review.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily banking summary
- Process system integration files for revenue
- Analyze event data for league invoicing
- Track and analyze certain team expenses including air travel, lodging and ground travel
- Manage fixed asset schedules and amortization tables
- Participate in the monthly close process
- Prepare manual and automated journal entries including: accruals, amortization and reclassifications
- Analyze general ledger detail
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with annual and league audits preparing audit schedules as needed
- Participate in annual budgeting process and subsequent monitoring of budget-to-actual variances
- Leverage technological capabilities of accounting software to enhance departmental efficiencies
- Assist department with special projects and reports on an ad hoc basis
- Perform all work in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; BS in Business or Accounting preferred
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience in the field of accounting, tax or audit
- CPA or CPA eligibility preferred
- Solid understanding of basic accounting and audit issues
- Computer skills requirements: intermediate MS Excel
- Knowledge of accounting, tax and/or audit applications preferred and Ticketmaster software, a plus
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
- Ability to solve practical problems in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to professionally handle highly sensitive and confidential information
- Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects
- Capable of working extended hours during month-end, year-end and audits
Compensation:
The expected annual base salary for this role is $50,000 - $70,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
