POSITION SUMMARY:

The Phillies are looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our team based at Citizens Bank Park. The Director of Human Resources will assist the Head of HR in leading the HR function by providing support for key processes. This is a hands-on role, requiring both tactical and strategic leadership ability. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to leaders and employees to solve complex organizational challenges and deliver impactful solutions. To be successful in the position you need to have a track record of excellent judgment, strategic thinking, influencing skills, and be results-oriented.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide HR leadership and guidance to the HR Coordinator and Talent Acquisition Specialist.
  • Manage employee relations issues and investigations in consultation with the Head of Human Resources.
  • Develop and lead DE&I initiatives with a passion for fostering an open and inclusive culture within the Phillies.
  • Lead and ensure all hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes are completed consistently and in compliance with all applicable federal and local laws.
  • Lead and conduct organization-wide training with a strong focus on compliance and continuous development.
  • Partner with the Head of Human Resources to manage and administer the annual Performance Management and Compensation Planning process.
  • Develop and administer employee engagement and recognition programs in partnership with the HR team.
  • Assist in the development and updating of key policies and procedures, including the annual updating of our employee manuals.
  • Provide guidance and support for the auditing of key business data and the response to all MLB report requests.
  • Continuously evaluate all HR programs with an eye towards improvement and implementing new and best practices.
  • Oversee the exit interview process and determine the underlying reasons for separation of employment. Provide data to support trends and participate in action planning to correct any organizational concerns.
  • Remain up to date on relevant HR and sports industry trends to stay in line and competitive within the marketplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in HR; preferably as a Generalist, HRBP, HR Manager, or Director of HR.
  • HR Certification is desired (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives is required.
  • Must be on-site a minimum of 3 days per week and occasional availability to work games.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment law to ensure compliance. Experience working in multi-state environments is preferred.
  • Proven experience in change management and implementing new processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence the decisions of leaders.
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with UKG Pro software products is preferred.
