Performance Teams Coordinator

Do you excel in a team environment and have a background in assisting with performance teams? The Oklahoma City Thunder Events and Entertainment department is currently hiring for a full-time Performance Teams Coordinator! This individual is responsible for assisting the Performance Teams Manager with O'City Crew, Thunder Girls, Thunder Drummers performance groups in addition to the Storm Chasers entertainment squad.

These co-ed groups engage fans in both traditional and innovative ways as we launch promotions and contests both in-arena and at scheduled community events including watch parties, festivals, court dedications, school assemblies and more. The coordinator will be helping with day-to-day responsibilities such as scheduling, stage management, payroll management and many other tasks.

In this role you will:

  • Assist Performance Teams Manager with day-to-day responsibilities
  • Help with scheduling performance groups and other talent for rehearsals, events and game nights
  • Collaborate with stage management for performance teams and talent, specifically in Love’s Loud City
  • Aid with budget and payroll management
  • Actively support in developing a costume and uniform plan for all talent, including performance teams, emcee and DJ
  • Serve as a POC for select Thunder and Blue Events
  • Stay on top of recruiting news and trends to assist team with a comprehensive performer recruitment program during the offseason
  • Track inventory for all team equipment and uniforms distribution
  • Implement and lead bi-monthly all entertainment team rehearsals
  • Support with reinitiating the acrobatic dunk team and Raindrops

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience with a minimum of two years’ experience in the field of live event entertainment (i.e. sports, theater, concerts)
  • Experience leading teams and projects strongly preferred
  • Direct experience in cheer, tumbling, drumming, music or dance a plus but not required
  • Creative mind and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take creative direction and be flexible in the face of change and last-minute initiatives
  • Ability to think clearly and quickly and communicate with detail in time-sensitive situations
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building talents
  • Knowledge of and interest in basketball and the NBA
  • Professional skills in organization, data entry and communications, time keeping, and calendar management

Additional Information:

Primary work location will be the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City at Paycom Center. Work schedule will include office hours as well as evenings, weekends and holidays as required by game schedules. Valid driver’s license and good driving record, and ability to obtain a passport as some domestic and international travel may be required. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Performance Teams Manager. Employees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
