The International Motor Sports Association, LLC (IMSA) was originally founded in 1969 and owns a long and rich history in sports car racing. Today, IMSA is the sanctioning body of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the premier sports car racing series in North America. IMSA also sanctions the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge and Historic Sportscar Racing, as well as five one-make series: Ferrari Challenge North America, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, Mazda MX-5 Cup, Mustang Challenge and Porsche Carrera Cup North America. SUMMARY

Provides a cross-functional opportunity to contribute across the IMSA Partnership Marketing team by working with and assisting on tasks related to Business Development, Corporate/Automotive Partnerships, and Track Marketing/Promotions.

Responsibilities include gaining knowledge of operations, supporting various aspects of the business, attending, and scheduling meetings, creating, and editing documents, and all other projects and tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Geographic prospecting
    • Identify prospective partners in each race market, develop outreach materials, and secure meetings at events.
  • Category prospecting
    • Identify and research specific categories relevant to IMSA and specific potential marketing partners; contact decision makers within each organization through cold-calling and networking within identified categories, agency outreach, IMSA stakeholders, etc.
  • Agency prospecting
    • Identify key agencies making sponsorship decisions, develop and implement plans to inform them of IMSA opportunities for their clients, host IMSA events, etc.
  • Research sports sponsorship trends, and other properties and suggest key categories to pursue, new inventory, etc.
  • Refresh IMSA Sales and Marketing Overview materials, coordinating with NASCAR Analytics to develop compelling consumer research/category data and conveying the IMSA value proposition.

PARTNERSHIP MARKETING

  • Organize, distribute, and track all race event tickets, hospitality passes, parking, and other associated information/access needs for Partners, Marketing staff, and other guests/prospects as directed by and in conjunction with the Partnership Marketing department.
  • Assist in the creative production of event resource materials for partners and execute the pre-event distribution of such materials.
  • Strategize and brainstorm activation opportunities that partners can participate in โ€“ at-track, in the market, digital, etc.
  • Build presentations, track social media metrics, and gather data as needed.

TRACK MARKETING AND PROMOTIONS

  • Gather relevant information from Track Promoters for marketing materials and digital assets.
  • Organize and distribute pre-event marketing materials to Track Promoters
  • Keep inventory of all IMSA signage, equipment, and hardware

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The position does not have any direct supervisory and/or direct report responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Approximately 10% travel including some weekends.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or be considered a recent graduate who has not completed their degree before the fall of the application year. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Experience with or affinity for sports car racing is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in Company-provided hardware and software, email, and Internet FTP usage. Must be able to use current Microsoft Operating Systems. Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. Familiarity and proficiency with current social media platforms and Adobe Suite are a plus.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS

High level of attention to detail regarding written documents and presentations

Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact professionally with industry executives.

Ability to perform and maintain composure in higher-pressure situations.

Ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
