Position:

The Vice President of Booking and Event Sales is part of the Stadium Operations Department for Minnesota United FC (MNUFC), a sports business located in the Twins Cities area of Minnesota and a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier soccer league in North America.

Job Description:

The Vice President of Booking and Event Sales will be responsible for leading all booking efforts and developing a strategic plan to maximize the utilization of Allianz Field and its ancillary spaces. This individual will spearhead efforts to attract large-scale events, such as concerts, sporting events, and corporate functions, driving revenue growth for the stadium while maintaining its reputation as a premier venue. This role involves high-level negotiation, business development, and collaboration across internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and brand alignment.

This is a full-time position based at Allianz Field in St. Paul, MN, reporting to the General Manager of Allianz Field.

Essential Duties:


Event Booking and Business Development:

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to achieve annual sales and event revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Special Events to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct booking activities for the stadium and surrounding spaces.
  • Promote Allianz Field to secure diverse events and maximize venue utilization through strategic sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Negotiate rental agreements and contracts with event promoters and clients, ensuring terms are favorable to the club.

Large Event Rentals:

  • Lead the procurement and negotiation of full-stadium events, collaborating with industry agents, promoters, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Event Operations and Security teams to ensure adequate staffing and logistics for large-scale events.
  • Develop a pipeline for new and unique events, including local, regional, national, and international sporting events, concerts, comedy shows, family entertainment, and other special events.


Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and manage a strategic program to fully leverage Allianz Field’s spaces, ensuring optimal utilization and revenue generation.
  • Partner with the marketing team to grow the Allianz Field brand, increasing visibility and awareness for potential event opportunities.
  • Ensure collaboration across departments, including Marketing, Box Office, Stadium Operations, Finance, and HR, to align event sales and execution.


Budgeting and Reporting:

  • Oversee the creation and management of an annual event calendar, including financial projections, revenue targets, and operational schedules.
  • Implement and monitor event-related budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts to ensure transparency and accountability for all event-related revenue and expenses.


Education/Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in event booking and sales, preferably within the sports, entertainment, or venue management industry.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams and achieving business development goals.
  • Strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including agents, promoters, and corporate organizations.
  • Experience managing large-scale event negotiations and creating strategic plans for venue utilization.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, with a strong financial acumen.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed for event execution.
  • Capability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including adverse weather conditions.
