Position Summary:

T.C., the official mascot of the Minnesota Twins, is responsible for entertaining our fans, implementing successful engagement strategies, contributing to community engagement initiatives, and promoting the Twins brand throughout Twins Territory. As the mascot, you are an ambassador for the organization at the Twins home games as well as public, private, community and team events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, marketing, and execution of programs and experiences that create mascot brand awareness and community impact for the Club.
  • Oversee the Minnesota Twins mascot program and all related matters concerning the image and activities of T.C., ensuring consistency with the Twins brand.
  • Lead hiring, training and management of Mascot Assistant and T.C.'s Squad.
  • Serve as the primary T.C. performer at home games (regular season, postseason, and Spring Training), and at public, private, community, and team events.
  • Preserve the identity and unique personality of the mascot without deviating from established character including body language/mannerisms, attitude, fan interaction, and brand representation.
  • Maintain and grow T.C.โ€™s social media platforms through innovative initiatives and current trends.
  • Develop and execute new and creative ways for the mascot to entertain fans, support the Twins brand and grow fan engagement across all ages.
  • Enhance the game day experience in and around Target Field by participating in and assisting with gameday fan interactive features, contests, promotional activations, and pregame ceremonies.
  • Participate as the mascot at Major League Baseball events and programs, as assigned by supervisor.
  • Responsible for costume, prop and equipment care, maintenance, and repair, as well as procurement and management of T.C.โ€™s squad uniforms and gameday giveaway items.
  • Manage the overall Minnesota Twins mascot program communication, responding in a timely manner.
  • Actively collaborate with marketing staff on promotion and execution of T.C. Sluggerโ€™s Kids Club programming.
  • Manage the mascot program budget.
  • Manage billing and record keeping for all appearances.
  • Execute other related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Required Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 2 years performing as a mascot at the collegiate, minor league, or professional level.
  • Annual USA Baseball Abuse Awareness for Adults Training certification.


Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effectively manage a flexible, non-traditional schedule that includes working nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent non-verbal communication skills; must have the ability to engage with fans in costume on a one-on-one basis as well as large crowd engagement.
  • Excellent physical skills, including but not limited to, dancing, tumbling and gymnastics.
  • Ability to perform activities with confidence and manage crowds effectively.
  • Fan-friendly attitude and willingness to initiate interaction with guests of all ages.
  • Ability to judge and adjust your surroundings quickly.
  • Understanding of social media trends and strategies.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent project management skills; ability to start with an idea and see it through to the end.
  • Baseball/Softball skills, including the ability to hit and catch.
  • Positive, energetic, and creative personality.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Video and photo editing experience.
  • Choreography and skit-writing experience.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must have physical stamina to perform and remain on your feet and in costume in all types of environments: indoor, outdoor, extreme temperatures.
  • Able to run, jump, walk up and down steps, as well as walk up to 6 hours at a time.
  • Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Due to costume restrictions, ideal height range is 5'9" to 6'1".
