Purpose

Established in 1986, City in the Community is Manchester City’s official charity. We support people across Manchester by empowering healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to the MEL team and wider CITC team by administrating, co-ordinating and supporting key processes relating to CITC’s project delivery that contribute towards the charity’s evaluation of outputs, outcomes and impact.

Accountabilities

  1. Co-ordinate and support the collection of meaningful qualitative data to support project evaluations, by working with programme leads.
  2. Act as a first point of contact for all data and reporting queries, to ensure the business has access to efficient, timely and informative programme impact information.
  3. Regularly monitor qualitative project data to ensure sufficient, relevant and comprehensive impact data exists to meet targets set both internally and externally for all projects.
  4. Analyse outcome data to create relevant presentations and/or reports that demonstrate CITC’s impact against core programme outcomes and pillars for all projects, and ensure all content created complies with brand guidelines.
  5. Maintain up to date knowledge of local data and research by regularly reviewing existing local data and information to help inform programme need or change as part of the evaluation process.
  6. Review data collection and reporting processes and procedures to identify where improvements could be made that may benefit the programmes or make MEL processes more efficient
  7. Consider relevant opportunities to share and celebrate success stories, key learnings or findings from the MEL team back to projects or the wider team, including co-ordinating content for internal newsletters or web stories and supporting with case study development.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field
  • Passionate about community engagement/education interventions and their effectiveness
  • Proven understanding and experience of collecting and analysing qualitative data
  • Experience and understanding of various methods of data collection, analysis, presentation and programme evaluation design in a non-profit field
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with ability to differentiate according to the audience
  • Naturally curious and diligent, with attention to detail
  • Resilient and adaptable to change
  • Self-motivated and focussed to work to own deadlines
  • Ability to co-ordinate work for different projects across multiple deadlines
  • Person centred approach across differing levels of stakeholders
  • Creative and passionate about continuous improvement
  • Ability to problem solve and make effective decisions under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) in a community engagement field
  • Understanding of community engagement/education intervention project processes
  • Understanding of City in the Community Foundation and its projects
  • Experience of online survey/questionnaire tools and administration
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Report writing experience
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience of creating logical frameworks or logic models
  • Knowledge of relevant GDPR legislation
