COMPANY BACKGROUND
The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park. The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As the Director, Social Media at Houston Dynamo Football Club, you will lead the strategic direction, development, and execution of the organization's social media initiatives to forward our brands. You will identify target audiences, set clear objectives and build an effective content strategy to engage audiences, brand awareness, drive engagement and fan loyalty across various social platforms. The Director will leverage data-driven insights to optimize performance and achieve organizational goals across the collection of HDFC brands.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for each HDFC brand, aligned with the Club's overall objectives, focusing on increasing brand visibility, audience engagement, and fan growth. Lead a team of social media professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of campaigns, content creation, and community management. Oversee the creation and distribution of compelling and relevant content across all HDFC social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat, as well as LinkedIn, working closely with creative designers to ensure assets are optimized for maximum performance across each social platform. Manage the content planning and day-to-day administration and management of Houston Dynamo First team social channels. Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation, optimization and monetization. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, communications, digital, ticketing and sponsorship teams to integrate social media initiatives into broader organizational strategies and campaigns. Establish KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of social media efforts, providing regular reporting and insights to key stakeholders. Cultivate and nurture relationships with influencers, fans,partners, and brand advocates to amplify the Club's reach and engagement. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in social media, recommending and implementing new tools, features, and tactics to enhance the Club's digital presence. Other related assigned duties as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Sports Management or related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in social media management, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry. Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies that drive engagement, audience growth, and brand affinity. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams. Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and analytics tools, with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform decision-making. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for storytelling and content creation. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational objectives into actionable social media initiatives. Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and experimentation. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of soccer and familiarity with Major League Soccer (MLS) preferred
