Job Summary:
Are you ready to join the hardest working ice crew team in sports? The Detroit Red Wings Carhartt Ice Crew is searching for dedicated, hardworking, and outgoing individuals with superior skating skills to maintain the pristine condition of the ice at Little Caesars Arena and elevate the game-day experience for thousands of fans.
Key Responsibilities:
Ice Maintenance:
- Keep the ice surface in top condition throughout all Detroit Red Wings home games, including shoveling snow during media timeouts.
- Handle net placement before, during, and after games. o Assist in the general maintenance of the ice, boards, and glass, ensuring a safe and professional environment for players and officials.
Game Day Operations:
- Collaborate with the Detroit Red Wings family of entertainment teams to enhance the fan experience.
- Engage with the crowd, energizing the arena and contributing to the electrifying atmosphere.
- Assist in setting up and executing on-ice activities during intermissions, making each game a memorable event for fans.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Superior Skating Skills: Strong skating ability is a must, as you’ll be responsible for quickly and efficiently maintaining the ice surface.
- Work Ethic: We’re looking for individuals who aren’t afraid of hard work and can perform under the pressure of a live sports environment.
- Outgoing Personality: As part of the fan experience team, you should be comfortable interacting with fans and contributing to the game-day excitement. •
- Commitment: Must be available to work at least 75% of Detroit Red Wings home games during the season.

“The Detroit Red Wings Game Presentation team will review all applications as they're submitted. Candidates that are selected to move forward to the audition phase will receive a formal invitation from a DRW Game Presentation member no later than Friday, August 23. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and be available to attend an in-person audition at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday, August 25th between 12:00-2:00pm.”
