Position Overview:

Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking an highly motivated Academy Video Analyst to join our Analytics team. This pivotal role will involve overseeing the analysis provision across the academy, whilst working to club values and methodology. You will collaborate with academy coaches and analysts to provide insights that drive performance on the field, while setting best practices for video and data analysis across the academy. As the Academy Video Analyst, you will be responsible for managing a variety of video analysis projects, from training and post-match analysis to player development, ensuring all processes are streamlined, reliable, and aligned with club standards. This role will report directly to the First Team Video Analyst.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Training and post-match video and statistical analysis for players and coaching staff.
  • Player Development: Support the development of players by cataloging and organizing video clips based on individual objectives, contributing to long-term growth.
  • Video Management: Oversee the recording, live coding, cataloging, and presentation of training sessions and matches, ensuring all content is accessible and organized.
  • File Management: Maintain a comprehensive library of video clips that showcase club tactics and player development best practices.
  • Presentation: Deliver clear and actionable insights to coaches and players through presentations and video breakdowns.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with video and data analysts across departments to maintain high standards of analysis and ensure alignment with the club’s technical philosophy.
  • Other Duties: Provide additional support to the coaching staff as needed, and travel as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in video analysis at the international, professional, academy, or collegiate level
  • Proven high-level tactical and technical knowledge
  • Experience with performance analysis tools such as Hudl Sportscode and Hudl Studio, and an understanding of the performance analysis software ecosystem
  • Excellent IT skills, and proficiency with Excel PowerPoint and Microsoft Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and experience delivering presentations to technical staff and players
  • Excellent Organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently but also in a team collaborative environment
  • Willingness and ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while collaborating effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Resilient, with the ability to handle adversity and challenge in a positive way
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • USSF C coaching license or equivalent preferred
  • Experience operating drones preferred
  • Conversational fluency in Spanish preferred


Compensation:

  • This role offers a salary range of $50,000.00 - $60,000.00
  • Final salary is determined by carefully considering the applicant's background, experience, and qualifications. Base pay may vary significantly based on geographic location, job-specific knowledge, skills, and overall experience. This role is classified as Full-time, exempt
  • This role is bonus eligible based on club-wide goals
