The Role of the Operations Executive – Brentford FC Training Ground

Brentford FC Training Ground Operations Executive is a key function as we return to Academy status as well as a Premier League Football Club.

The role is operationally responsible ensuring that the Training Ground is supported in its business as usual including events and matches.

This role will be responsible for operational readiness of Training Ground buildings, working in partnership with on field departments, key stakeholders, Local Community and Community Sports Trust.

This role will require a flexible working hours schedule including as part of a published roster between 0700-2200hrs and 0800-1900hrs at weekends on a four-week rotational basis.

Main Accountabilities

  • Build relationships with the Academy and wider RRPC on field staff to assist in smooth operation of the site.
  • Regular reviews of building infrastructure, identifying maintenance windows for facilities team and other external maintenance partners to maintain the site.
  • Ensure that the Training Ground site is welcoming, clean and fit for purpose to operate on a day-to-day basis, both internally and externally.
  • To ensure that all safety and security elements of any event is fully scheduled and delivered on time within budget.
  • Deliver support to on field Football activities communicating with relevant club stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the local community and other stakeholders and keep updated on events and activity.
  • Facilitate progression of Car Parking & Travel plans at site for both staff and visitors reporting into Travel Plan Coordinator (Operations Manager).
  • Undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description.

Person Specification - Essential Personal Characteristics

  • Candidate must align with Brentford FC values and culture.
  • Have a proven track record in delivering successful operational events.
  • Ability to be able to communicate operational solutions in a simple manner to all stakeholders.
  • Be able to handle pressured environments and events in a calm and controlled manner.

Person Specification - Desirable Characteristics

  • The candidate will have excellent communication skills both on the phone and in person.
  • A highly motivated individual, the candidate will possess good time management skills.
  • Ability to work on one’s own and as part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate the highest professional standards of operation and service.
  • Must be “customer focused”
  • Must demonstrate a thorough approach to work, an able to organise themselves and others effectively.
  • Must be an effective team member, with sufficient flexibility and willingness to take on roles outside their normal functional responsibility when required.
  • IOSH qualification.
  • Possess NVQ3 qualification in Spectator Safety or willing to work towards this qualification.
  • Have a working knowledge of Safeguarding provisions for vulnerable adults and young people.
  • Have completed ACT awareness training.
  • Current First Aid Qualification.
  • Undertake Continued Personal Development to improve service levels in role.
  • Be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and other associated platforms.
