Job Summary:

The Intern will assist Community Basketball Programs activity to execute, communicate, and recap strategic initiatives that achieve measurable results and impact the Atlanta community in a positive and memorable way. This position interacts and collaborates inter-departmentally for the execution and growth of community programs. Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the student intern. (Please note, this role must live and work out of the Atlanta, GA area.)

Responsibilities:

  • Support both Summer Camp and Community Court Tour activations across Metro Atlanta
  • Bring energy and outgoing spirit to all tasks and activations
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while providing outstanding customer service to youth participants, parents, talent, facility directors, corporate partners, vendors, etc.
  • Assist with packs, load-ins and load-outs and all other event supporting activity for camps and court tour
  • Ensure a safe and risk-free environment for campers, parents, and other Hawks activation employees.
  • Create and deliver program recaps, working with internal stakeholders such as Brand Communications, Marketing and Corporate Partnerships as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Community Basketball Team.

Camp Operations Responsibilities

  • Assist with camp registration as well as daily camper check-in and check-out
  • Assist with equipment and apparel inventory
  • Assist with camper and staff lunch operations
  • Assist camper awards and certificates

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proactive, problem-solving approach to tasks
  • Works effectively and quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail in execution
  • Ability to work with internal and external clients with a positive customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to positively handle fast-paced or high pressure situations
  • Proficient in Outlook, MS Office, Google forms/docs and other applications
  • CANNOT be affiliated with a Boys AAU Program for ages 15-18; no contact with top 100 prospects (NBA RULE)
  • CANNOT work with draft ineligible prospects (EX: international players, top 100 high school player in their class)

Education and Experience:

  • Sports Administration, Marketing, Business, Management or related field Bachelor’s degree program preferred
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited HBCU College or University as a rising Junior and Senior
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • Must have reliable transportation to join activations and event support activities in a timely and safe manner across the greater Atlanta area
  • Able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
