POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Marketing & Advertising Trainee will assist the Marketing Coordinators and Marketing Director in the creation and execution of digital marketing campaigns across digital channels with an emphasis on paid and owned digital campaigns. In addition, the Marketing & Advertising Trainee will work on all experiential marketing endeavors to enhance fan engagement, specifically in outer markets. The Trainee will also have a primary role in executing the Atlanta Braves Kids Club program. Lastly, this role will gain invaluable experience in email marketing by learning to build and deploy various email campaigns

The Marketing Department acts as an internal agency, working collaboratively with all departments (including Ticket Sales, Premium Sales, Community Affairs, Diversity & Inclusion, Corporate Partnerships, Meetings & Events, etc) to help them achieve their goals through various marketing initiatives and campaigns. The Marketing Department also works very closely with the Business Intelligence team to provide engaging content to targeted segments of fans.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Assist with ad trafficking process for digital paid media campaigns across platforms including: social media, programmatic display, digital video, digital audio, and MLB.tv
  • Manage and traffic promotional ads on braves.com
  • Help support email operations by learning to build templates, assist with email copy, and deploy emails in conjunction with MLB. Will manage email needs for certain initiatives and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning and executing experiential marketing events throughout Atlanta and the Southeast, including liaising with external agency and vendors
  • Assist in managing Braves Kids Club program by helping brainstorm ways to grow the program, in addition to activating Kids Club Sundays during various home games
  • Manage, schedule and traffic all Braves owned highway marquee billboards
  • Assist Marketing Department in any needs related to planning for and hosting 2025 MLB All-Star Week
  • Manage Media Ticket Trade program, including media partner evaluations and ticket fulfillment process
  • Manage TV & radio affiliate affidavit tracking
  • Assist with monthly reporting needs and campaign recaps for both marketing initiatives and Corporate Partners
  • Actively participate in weekly marketing meetings and brainstorming sessions related to proposed marketing projects
  • Conduct ongoing research to evaluate MLB, other sports and the general market to uncover ideas and refine best practices
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends during the baseball season

TRAINEE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

  • College graduate, Bachelor's or Master's, with a GPA of at least 3.0 at graduation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the company
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent executive presence
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must complete a background check

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree with an emphasis on Business, Marketing, Advertising and/or Sports Management
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, think creatively, analyze data, and problem solve
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a team-first player who works well with others
  • Must possess natural curiosity and ambition to proactively aid moving the business forward
  • Experience running organic or paid social campaigns a plus
  • Google Analytics certified a plus
  • Should have strong organizational skills
