1. The Department

Our Aston Villa Women’s Football Team and Girls Academy pathway have experienced substantial growth over the past four years. Our focus is on ensuring we have the right individuals in key roles to facilitate the realisation of our ambitious plans. At the core of our mission is nurturing, encouragement, and development of talent within our Women and Girls youth structure.

2. The Role

We are looking for an individual to provide maternity cover in the role of Youth Technical Director to manage and oversee our Girls Academy Department. The role will be accountable for all managerial aspects, including recruitment, supervision, appraisal, budgets and working closely with the Operations Manager to oversee and support all Operations.

The role will involve working collaboratively with other departments across the Club; including building close relationships with the Head of Women’s Football and Women’s Head Coach to facilitate the transition from youth to senior football as well as the Aston Villa Foundation to co-ordinate community work and events.

The role will have a specific focus designing, developing and implementing a coach development programme for the Girls Academy aligning with the Clubs High Performance Plan.

3. The Person

The successful candidate must hold the following qualifications:

· UEFA A Licence

· FA Youth Award

· FA Safeguarding Children Course

· FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid

You will need to have experience of inspiring and leading a team in sport and be a clear and influential communicator. This is a dynamic role which will require you to have effective time management and problem solving skills.

You must have experience of coaching young female players at an elite level and be able to manage, mentor and develop coaches and have demonstrable experience of devising and implementing Coach development programmes.

An undergraduate degree in Coaching or Sport Science (or equivalent) and knowledge of grassroots football in and around the Midlands is desirable.

You must also be available to work flexibly as this role will require you to work evenings and weekends and hold a full UK driving licence.
