Job Summary:

The Assistant Operations & Equipment Manager will support both the operational functions and equipment management for St. Louis City SC Academy. This position requires versatility in managing daily academy operations while overseeing all equipment-related responsibilities, ensuring the smooth functioning of youth development programs, and proper maintenance of all academy assets.



RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Operations Management

  • Coordinate daily academy operations, including field scheduling and managing training calendars
  • Support match day operations for academy games and events
  • Manage academy administrative tasks, including player registration and documentation
  • Assist in coordinating transportation and travel arrangements for academy teams
  • Coordination and communication for club-hosted academy events
  • Liaise with parents, coaches, and staff to ensure effective communication
  • Assist in organizing academy events, trials, and special programs

Equipment Management

  • Manage and maintain all academy training and match day equipment
  • Assist in pressing uniforms, and training gear for coaches and players
  • Coordinate uniform and gear distribution to academy players and staff
  • Prepare training and match day equipment setups
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance
  • Process and track equipment orders
  • Organize and maintain equipment storage facilities
  • Coordinate laundry services for training and match day uniforms
  • Maintain detailed inventory tracking systems for boots and shoes
  • Support equipment transport for away matches and events



Required Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent inventory management and record-keeping skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sports management software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in youth soccer or professional sports environment
  • Knowledge of MLS Next Academy structure
  • Experience with scheduling and facility management software
  • Equipment repair and maintenance skills
  • Spanish language proficiency

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Standing/walking for extended periods
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching frequently
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Manual dexterity for equipment maintenance

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position requiring flexible hours
  • Evening and weekend availability required
  • Travel required for away matches and tournaments
