Seasonal - Production Assistant

The Jets are seeking a motivated content creator to join their award-winning entertainment department as a Seasonal Production Assistant. This role will be an integral part of the production team focused on assisting in production across the group and learning and applying best practices from the internal production team. This role is a key contributor to all of the team’s production efforts including but not limited to daily coverage, documentary, social media, broadcast, studio, marketing and stadium production to help achieve collective goals throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to learn on the job, assist with all forms of content and take direction well and have a desire to grow as a storyteller and content producer within the high-pressure demands of the NFL.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce, shoot and edit original videos for all team platforms, including but not limited to Jets YouTube channel, social media platforms, team website, broadcast shows, studio-based productions and 1JD Films documentary productions.
  • Assist on shoots in studio or on-location with players, coaches and fans. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to: shooting, lighting design, audio engineering, set grip, logging and assisting in the control room when needed.
  • Shoot and edit community-based features with a strong eye for storytelling. Features will contribute to Jets CR initiatives as well as team docuseries, One Jets Drive.
  • Shoot practice, locker room availability, press conferences and post-game coverage as assigned.
  • Serve as assistant editor for docuseries and feature productions demonstrating an ability to lay out a story, highlight sequence and other show needs. Series include One Jets Drive, Flight 24 and additional 1JD Films franchise series.
  • Assist in packing and maintaining equipment while also learning how to properly operate cameras, audio equipment and lighting gear.
  • Edit docuseries teasers and assist in pulling show elements for Jets social media platforms.
  • Edit series commercials to run on broadcast television networks.
  • Update and create lower thirds and other graphics for docuseries and other feature productions.
  • Shoot behind the scenes and supporting footage for team docuseries and other production.
  • Assist Media Manager in logging and organizing game footage.
  • Cut broadcast and network footage stringers as requested by managers.
  • Contribute new ideas with an ability to be forward-thinking in the distribution of content.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to edit and shoot with a detailed and creative eye for storytelling.
  • Experience using editing software such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
  • Understand cameras (Arri Amiras, URSA Blackmagic, Sony FX6, A7siii) and proper shooting and lighting techniques.
  • Candidate must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to take direction from producers and editors.
  • Candidate must be willing to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekend and holidays.

Note: To be considered, all candidates must submit a reel that demonstrates their shooting and editing ability.

Anticipated Duration: June 2024 through January 2025
