WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY

The Production Assistant is a seasonal temporary full-time position for NHL Entertainment & Game Presentation department that provides day-to-day support on both in-office and on-site duties related to NHL tentpole events for the 2024-2025 winter season.

This temporary position will begin October 2024 and conclude in March 2025. While this position is based out of the NHL's NYC office, it will require travel within the United States and Canada.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Entertainment & Game Presentation team in-office and on-site at tentpole events.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, taking notes, developing agendas, managing production schedules, and organizing team members.
  • Support the Production Manager with all operational items related to tentpole events such as contracting, completing department order forms, managing travel requests, budgeting, and invoice processing.
  • Assist the Producer with preparing and distributing event documents such as event timing sheets, rundowns, scripts, and broadcast overviews.
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of game scripts, promotional content, graphic package concepts, and fan engagement activities.
  • Support the team in preparing and executing in-game promotions, contests, and on-camera segments with talent.
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of current pop culture trends and effectively incorporate them into engaging entertainment elements.
  • Provide on-site support with talent management, prop procurement, outfitting, ticket distribution, etc.
  • Other Entertainment-related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience

Required

  • 1-2 years of experience in live events, preferably in the sports & entertainment industry
  • Strong understanding of live event production, multimedia technology, and fan engagement strategies.


Preferred

  • Previous experience in event coordination, entertainment, or a related field is a plus.
  • Passion for hockey and a strong knowledge of the NHL and our 32 clubs.


Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field.

  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as travel to host event cities within the United States and Canada.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds and stand for extended periods; tolerate loud music, bright lights, pyrotechnics, and other arena conditions.

SALARY RANGE:

$30/HR

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
