Position Summary:
The Director of High Performance will oversee the club’s strategy, culture, and implementation of all
aspects related to player health and performance. The person will play an important leadership
role, managing a department of skilled practitioners across medical, fitness, strength and
conditioning, sports science, nutrition, and mental health. They will also be tasked with creating
club-wide processes that support the vertical integration of the high performance culture to the
MLS Next Pro team, Huntsville City FC, and all MLS Next Academy teams. The person will report
into the General Manager, with essential relationships with the Nashville SC Head Coach and other
key club leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities
• Create and implement an integrated, player-centric, high performance culture and strategy
for the entire club.
• Lead and manage the club’s high performance department across all of the club’s teams
and properties.
• Oversee various practitioners across medical and performance domains and ensure crossfunctional
approach to player management and care.
• Define clear roles and responsibilities for each staff member and provide support and
mentorship for them to succeed.
• Establish a collaborative staff culture that encourages cross-functional approaches to
player health and performance.
• Work closely with the Nashville SC Head Coach on load management to optimize player
health and availability for the first team.
• Oversee process for first team player injury diagnosis, rehabilitation, and return to paly
planning.
• Provide clear communicating to key club stakeholders regarding health and performance
status of first team players.
• Create processes and guidelines that can be used for Huntsville City FC and Nashville SC
Academy high performance staff.
• Ensure compliance with league medical and performance mandates and act as key conduit
between club and league.
• Manage development of player specific nutrition programs and holistic mental health
initiatives.
• Oversee operational budget in coordination with club leadership.

Requirements
• Master’s degree or higher in a related sports medicine, sports science, or sports
performance field.
• At least 8 years of experience in a first team sporting environment within a player health and
performance department.
• At least 4 years of experience leading staff members in a department within a first team
sporting environment.
• Work experience that demonstrates natural leadership and confidence in leading a
collaborative culture of numerous employees.
• Strong understanding of human performance disciplines and ability to integrate disciplines
outside of own degree.
• Multi-lingual abilities, with Spanish fluency or advanced knowledge as a high priority.
• Exceptional communication skills to various stakeholders at various levels of an
organization.
• Collaborative approach within department and alongside club leadership to establish and
execute high performance vision and goals.
• Ability to thrive and adapt in high pace environments.
