We are seeking a Manager of Family Relations within our Baseball Operations space. This person will oversee the Miami Marlins Families Program to provide a premier Major League experience. This person will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with various departments, serve as a liaison to player’s significant others, and plan numerous events to enhance the family experience of our major league players.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with marketing, social media, the Marlins Foundation, and the events team for the Marlins Families program needs.
- Oversee, plan, and execute significant others' charitable endeavors with support from the Marlins Foundation and community partners.
- Serve as point person to assist families with gameday items such as issuing ID cards, parking passes, suite requests, and other personal requests.
- Serve as the primary point person for Marlins players’ families annually.
- Oversee, plan, and execute various family activities such as Family Day.
- Oversee family room maintenance and upgrade requests at loanDepot park.
- Oversee the childcare program at loanDepot park.
- Work with the Director of Team Travel to coordinate travel itineraries and provide accurate information and updates while the team is on the road.
- Work with the Director of Team Travel to ensure travel plans and family needs are handled in a timely manner before road trips.
- Assist with planning and travel for the annual Family Trip. This could also extend to other special trips, such as postseason travel.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with vendors.
- Manage team gifting initiatives for various occasions such as birthdays, baby showers, and anniversaries.
- Oversee and manage budgets.
- Work with team stores and local vendors on discounts and collaborations.
- Create the Miami Marlins Better Halves resource guide.
- Stay current on family services trends in the sports industry to ensure the Marlins program remains at the forefront.
- Assist with Miami Marlins front office family events.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience.
- Extensive experience managing requests related to VIP groups.
- Experience in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to lead and manage employees.
- Ability to work nights and weekends; potential travel with team.
- Extensive experience in baseball or sports is preferred.
- Ability to speak Spanish, preferred.
