About the role

We are seeking an experienced Garment Technologist to be responsible for the fit and quality of manufacture of seasonal ranges of clothing, in line with critical path deadlines.

What will you be doing?

  • Create an accurate size specification for each garment, including a full grade across the required sizes.
  • Measure and fit prototype and pre-production samples against each size specification and propose any amendments/improvements to the relevant manufacturer, within critical path deadlines.
  • Assess the quality of manufacture of all prototype and pre-production samples and propose any amendments/improvements to the relevant manufacturer, within critical path deadlines.
  • Generate a workbook for each garment.
  • Manage the movement of gold seal samples around the business and to check stock against gold seal standards, when required.
  • Review customer returns, analyse data gathered and recommend actions to be taken to remedy any issues arising.
  • Approve supplier submissions for barcodes and care labels.
  • Issue wearer trials and act upon any findings, in order to improve the fit and quality of LFC clothing.
  • Approve supplier test reports, to ensure all garments meet our requirements.
  • Review samples from 3rd party clothing brands, to ensure they meet our requirements.

Who are we looking for?

  • Prior experience of working with men’s, women’s, children’s and baby clothing within a global sports or lifestyle brand
  • Experience of pattern cutting, grading and the creation of technical specifications
  • Experience of working with a global manufacturing supply base
  • Knowledge of a diverse range of clothing products and compliance

This is a temporary, maternity leave cover for a period of 10 months working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. Your main base will be our Distribution Centre Office in Whiston.
