The Dallas Mavericks is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Legal Intern to join our legal department for a Summer internship. This is a unique opportunity for aspiring legal professionals to gain valuable hands-on experience within a professional sports organization.

Responsibilities:

Legal Research: Conduct legal research on a wide range of topics, including sports contracts, labor laws, intellectual property, and other areas relevant to the sports industry.
Contract Review: Assist in the review, drafting, and analysis of various contracts, such as player contracts, sponsorship agreements, and vendor contracts.
Compliance: Help ensure that the organization complies with NBA rules, regulations, and guidelines, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Data Management: Organize and maintain legal documents and databases, ensuring easy access to critical information.
Case Support: Provide support to the legal team in various legal matters, including litigation, dispute resolution, and risk management.
Intellectual Property: Assist in protecting the team's intellectual property rights, trademarks, and copyrights.
Legal Updates: Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice.
General Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling, preparing legal documents, and communicating with external parties.

Qualifications:

Enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited law school.
Strong legal research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
A passion for sports and a basic understanding of the NBA and its operations.
