Job Title: Full Time Plumber

Department: Ball Park Operations
Reports To: Director of Maintenance
FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Base Salary: Commensurate with experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs plumbing repair and installation at Great American Ball Park, including unclogging toilets, sinks and sewer lines.
Installs water and gas lines according to specifications and plumbing codes.
Cuts, brazes, welds and threads pipe, replaces valves, traps, etc. Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
Performs maintenance checks on pipes, drains, plumbing fixtures, restroom fixtures, including partitions,
Operates and utilizes hand and power tools such as wrenches, sewer machines, drill, torch, electric hammer, and jetter
General maintenance knowledge on commercial buildings

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Possesses knowledge of plumbing codes, methods, tools, and equipment.
Possesses skills of a licensed plumber, operation of hand held power tools and equipment. Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lifts.
Previous experience in working in a larger scale public building, preferably in an outdoor environment
Knowledge of Fire Systems (example dry pipe systems)
Ability-Understand plumbing mechanics and apply principles to solve problems; interpret technical, oral, and written instructions; read and interpret blueprints; cooperate with co-workers on group projects; maintain accurate records
Must be have basic welding/brazing skills

Ideal candidate will possess the Following:

Ability to work long and irregular hours at times including nights, weekends and Holidays.
Ability to work an entire event including pre and post-game activities.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, speak and comprehend English.
Ability to clearly, effectively, and professionally interact with staff, supervisors, and the public.
The ideal candidate must be outgoing, attentive and communicate in a professional manner and remain calm during high volume periods.

Requirements:

Must present self in a professional manner to interact with fans of all ages, sponsors, game day guests and on occasion, players
Must be an energetic self-starter with an outgoing personality and be customer-service driven
Ability to work approximately half of the 81 homes games, plus other major events.
Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
OHSA 10 Hour certification

Work Environment:

Employee will have game-day responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
Hours will at times include nights, weekends and holidays.
