Job Title: Systems Administrator

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Senior Director Information Technology

Position Overview:

The Systems Administrator will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, supporting, and ensuring the reliability and smooth operation of our computer systems, network, and data security systems. This role requires a proactive approach to IT management, ensuring that systems are up-to-date, secure, and capable of supporting the dynamic needs of a professional sports organization.

Key Responsibilities:

· System Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization's servers, workstations, networking devices, and software applications. Ensure all systems are running efficiently and are properly maintained.

· Network Administration: Manage and monitor network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. Troubleshoot network issues and perform network improvements and upgrades as needed.

· Security Management: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access or breaches. Conduct regular system audits and respond promptly to any security incidents.

· Data Management and Backup: Ensure that all critical data is regularly backed up and can be quickly restored in the event of data loss or system failure.

· User Support and Training: Provide technical support to staff and athletes, addressing any IT-related issues in a timely manner. Conduct training sessions on new systems or software when necessary.

· Vendor and Inventory Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers. Oversee the procurement of hardware and software, ensuring that inventory is well-maintained and up-to-date.

· Project Management: Lead and participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems configurations, procedures, and policies. Prepare regular reports on IT system performance and issues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration, preferably in a sports or dynamic team environment.

· Strong knowledge of network administration, server management, and data security practices.

· Experience with cloud services, virtualization technologies, and modern IT solutions.

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the team's schedule.
