The Role
We are looking for a Junior Buyer to work with our Senior Category Manager and our Junior Merchandiser to support the buying and trading of adidas Arsenal products. You will be working across adidas, our Ecommerce, Stores, Brand and Partnerships teams, as well as external contacts. Ensuring products are delivered in a timely manner, maximising revenue opportunities and minimising risk. You will also have responsibility for managing and growing the memorabilia and golf apparel categories.
Working with our Product Buying and Merchandising team, you will recommend Arsenal buy volumes to our Senior Management, presenting growth initiatives with an innovative mindset to identify opportunities and risks.

Your day-to-day
- Deliver growth strategy initiatives - you will passionately contribute to and implement the kit partner growth strategy initiatives, delivering short and medium-term objectives
- Be integral in the product buying process - you’ll ensure that all products ordered are delivered in a timely manner, representing us in the order tracking meetings with adidas
- Strive for growth - you will manage and grow both our Golf apparel and Memorabilia categories, making product buying recommendations with the support of our Senior Category Manager
- Identify new opportunities - you’ll proactively identify range gaps, trends and where open-to-buy exists, finding opportunities where it makes commercial sense to do so
- Champion data analysis - you will prepare ad-hoc reports and work with our Senior Category Manager to present this data in monthly and quarterly meetings and you'll utilise reporting and performance analysis to ensure we're making data-driven decisions
- Support Trading functions - you’ll attentively input into the retail marketing calendar process, contributing at trading meetings as well as the planning of launches and ongoing sales performance
- Collaborate with Retail Marketing - you will regularly communicate ranges and launches to our Brand and Ecommerce and Stores teams, providing product nominations to support through paid social and paid search activities and you'll work with the BAA's to support the management of Ecommerce product shoots, deciding what products will be shot, taking buy and revenue opportunity into consideration
- Establish and maintain impactful relationships - you'll relish the opportunity to build strong relationships across our Commercial and Football department to leverage endorsement opportunities to help drive sales, maximising player time at monthly club day with our Marketing team to ensure product usage on player shoots
- Uphold our commitment to sustainability - you will contribute towards our Retail sustainability strategy, in line with our Brand strategy and Sustainability objectives
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in a similar retail environment - you have substantial experience (at least 3 years) in buying or category management in apparel at a major retailer or supplier
- Track record of buying and trading experience - you will possess a good level of operational experience across stores and Ecommerce as well as experience across women’s, men’s and kidswear apparel with the agility to work cross functionally to deliver goals
- Best-in-class specialist knowledge - you have a passion for apparel and are ambitious with product direction and numbers, having excellent market awareness and knowledge of industry trends allowing you to identify areas of change, future actions and manage implementation whilst also challenging the status-quo
- Detail-orientated mindset - you have excellent attention for product detail and financial awareness with the ability to multi-task and remain extremely organised
- Proactive and adaptable approach - you thrive in a fast-paced, supporter focused sales environment and hold dynamic and entrepreneurial qualities alongside a trading mentality with the ability to quickly identify and communicate opportunities
- Project management expertise - you have the ability and experience to manage projects and see things through to completion in a challenging environment, implementing strong communication and presentation skills throughout
